17th annual ClueLess On Las Olas ‘Til Death Do Us Apart’

Society is all aflutter with the news of the wedding of the year, but the fun is cut off when the bride is found dead in “Till Death Do Us Apart.” As part of an annual fundraiser, Clueless on Las Olas, draws 500 amateur sleuths scouring the streets of Fort Lauderdale to find the truth. On Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 7 p.m. detectives gather on Las Olas Blvd. to solve the unique murder mystery game.

Patterned after the board game Clue, ClueLess on Las Olas participants read an original mystery before solving seven one-of-a-kind clues to determine which of the six suspects committed the crime. To win the game, participants must correctly identify the murderer and also determine where the incident occurred or with what.

On-site registration, and check-in for advance registrants, runs from 5:30–7 p.m. at S.E. 9th Avenue and Las Olas Boulevard across the street from Mangos. After check-in, participants enter the street party area where they read the mystery and enjoy refreshments. At 7 p.m., the crowd is introduced to the six suspects and then they go to shops and restaurants on Las Olas to retrieve the clues. To help solve the crime, snitches sell hints to the clues for $1. By 8:45 p.m., everyone returns to the street party to hear the final clue and accuse a suspect. First, second and third place prizes are awarded through a random drawing from all who answered the clues correctly. The first place prize is a VIP Florida Panthers Package that includes four Premium Lower Bowl tickets to a 2012/2013 home game, a Zamboni ride at the game for a child and a tour of the Panthers’ locker room ($1,500 value).

The silent auction runs from 6-8 p.m. with items from shops on Las Olas, signed sports memorabilia, Southwest Airline tickets, dinner packages and hotel stays. In addition, participants enjoy a raffle, appetizer and dessert buffets, music and a bar.
